Over the course of this semester, I have been introduced to several new art forms and mediums. I also have been reintroduced to others that I had done before. I have created a plethora of art pieces that have made me grow as an artist. I have relearned that stippling is quite difficult but remembered the fun of experimenting with mixing art paints. I have to say that my printmaking final "Secret Sword" was the least successful piece. I think this because making the background didn't work the way I wanted it. Also, the small details of the leaves made it look kind of messy. However, the prisma pieces were probably the best being most vivid in color and the best in detail. I think that prisma color pencils give you the best results from use. I also love the brightness of the colors making the pieces pop. My pen and ink piece "Llamas" was also an experience. I didn't realize how tedious the specific techniques would be. Also, the textures unit was pretty trying on the hand. Drawing the still life was something that I had done before but forgot how much I need to practice drawing. Practicing with shading and tinting was also extremely difficult for me since I apparently lack the artistic talent for making 2D into 3D using just pencils. The last project with clay was the most fun for me I think. I had taken sculpture last semester and I had forgotten about the timely process of it. However, it was the most tactile and I really liked using my hands to squish and mold the bundt cake. I am glad I chose to take art 2 my senior year as it has shown me I am not a complete art failure. I have come a long way since my early art days in elementary school.
